What’s Your Body Telling You? The Hidden Influence of Your Mindset
Dealing with persistent injuries? It’s time to examine what’s going on in your head.
I’m not just talking about seeing a professional (though that’s a good idea too).
I mean, take a moment to reflect on your values and beliefs. Because they play a significant role in shaping your body.
Your mindset has a profound impact.
If you’re someone who embraces the grind, your body will reflect that.
If people often describe you as ‘thick-headed’ or ‘stubborn,’ your body will show it.
For instance, if you pride yourself on perseverance at all costs. Guess what? Your body will respond accordingly.
Compensating for other areas of your life? Your body won’t hide it. Ambitious or not, your training and physique will reveal your attitude.
This will often manifest in positive ways. But also in not-so-positive ways (think muscle imbalances from overtraining certain areas). And sometimes in harmful ways (such as injuries).
Genetics play a role, sure, but they don’t have nearly as much influence as your values and beliefs.
